Baby's now the size of an avocado!
Watch what you say...tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean she can now pick up your voice. A few more minuscule changes: Eyebrows, lashes, and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming.

Week 16
Well...school is off to an interesting start! I have a class full of very excited and talkative kids! They were all very interested to hear everything about my pregnancy once I told them I would be growing a bit in the next couple of months!
I came down with my first major head cold about a week ago and am still trying to shake it. I have been taking Sudafed and Tylenol when I really need it, but not too much. As if I wasn't short of breath before, I am even more short of breath now that I can't breathe through my nose!
I am looking forward to our appointment next Thursday. Hopefully all goes well. I am impatiently awaiting our 20 week appointment so that we can find out what we're having and start shopping!
Cravings this week:
Fried Pickles
Skittles, Starburst, and Sour Patch Kids (healthy, I know!)
Grapes
I'll post an update after the doctor next Thursday.

14 Weeks
I am now back to work and feel pretty good. I miss my afternoon naps but am very excited to meet my new students and start the year off in a good way.
Kent was a little tired of me getting all of the attention so he went and broke his hand playing softball. He is undergoing surgery tomorrow. Hopefully everything will go just fine and he will be able to recover smoothly.
I am getting excited for graduation in a couple of days. My superintendent gave me some advice. She told me to hook a bag of crackers onto my belt underneath my robe-just in case I got hungry! I might have to consider it!
Baby's now the size of a lemon!
Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine, and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys, and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over her body for warmth.

Advice
I also was given some advice by Heather and from now on my response to any requests at home will be "Not now. I'm busy creating life."
I have already used it once!
Week 13
Our appointment Friday was a short but interesting one. We did not have an ultrasound and were told we will not have one until October. That is when we will find out the sex of the baby. We did, however, get the opportunity to hear the heartbeat. For me, it was an emotional and amazing sound! It just felt good to hear it and know that everything is alright in there!
We are now almost 13 weeks along. Just in time to go back to work! I decided that I am going to tell the staff right away so I don't have to worry about people gossiping and trying to figure it out.
Here are some facts about this week:
Baby's now the size of a peach!
Your fetus is forming teeth and vocal cords...savor this, their nonfunctional phase. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with his head now only one third the size of his body. And intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy -- much more convenient.
